Original Knowledge

just, yet,still

These words are often used with the present perfect tense although yet, still can all be used with other tenses。

這三個英文詞just, yet, still 一般都應用與現在完成時中,不過yet, still 也可以用在其他的時態中。

兄一:just

‘Just’ is usually used only with the present perfect tense and it means ‘a short time ago’.

“just“一詞應用於現在完成時,意為”剛剛,不久“。

e。g。

I’ve just seen Susan coming out of the cinema。

我剛看到Susan從影院出來。

Mike’s just called。 Can you ring him back please?

Mike剛打電話過來,你可以給他回過去嗎?

Have you just taken my pen? Where has it gone?

你剛拿了我的鋼筆了嗎?它去哪裡了?

注:In the present perfect, ‘just’ comes between the auxiliary verb (‘have’) and the past participle。

在現在完成時中,just放在助動詞have和動詞(過去分詞形式)之間。

兄二:Yet

Yet’ is used to talk about something which is expected to happen. It means ‘at any time up to now’. It is used in questions and negatives.

Yet經常被應用於否定式和疑問句中,表示期望某事情發生。

Have you finished your homework yet? (The speaker expects that the homework will be finished。)

你完成作業了嗎?(說話人期望他已經完成作業)

I haven’t finished it yet。 I’ll do it after dinner。
